The Founder's Edge
Hi, I'm Alex Rankin. I built this business after spending 25+ years managing some of Australia's most complex regulatory and policy challenges within government, not-for-profit and environmental agencies.
That experience taught me how how to build systems that work under intense scrutiny. How to track obligations across dozens of programs and multiple jurisdictions. How to transform failing programs into functional delivery. And how to design decision frameworks that are defensible when challenged.
In that time, I saw the same operational challenges repeatedly: compliance and regulatory activites tracked in spreadsheets; obligations scattered across systems that don't talk to each other; reports compiled manually from a dozen sources; and decisions made without proper documentation.
Why I started Driftwood Crew Consulting
I realised businesses face the same challenges I solved in government—but without access to that level of systematic thinking and experience. They're drowning in manual processes, regulatory complexity, and fragmented systems.
